brrrr!

For my friends out there that don't think it ever gets cold in California....

hint: I live in the purple

Let me remind you that I live in Northern California (home of the redwoods, not the transplanted palm trees....well, ok...some idjits plant those up here, too).

Now, I do understand these are not blizzard conditions (I grew up in the snow, so I do know what it is, btw), but it was 22 degrees here this morning, and for us?
That's cold....

And it is also why I knit that big scarf and a big hat!

I think I mentioned this hat last week. I like the concept, but it doesn't have enough slouch to it as it is, so I'm going to rip it back to the brim and re-knit it. Not a big deal, the yarn is so fat it only took like 30 seconds to knit. I also need to tweak the glass buttons a bit, 'cuz MyFavoriteKid was goofing off with the beret sort of frisbee-style, dropped it, and shattered a button. When I re-do it, I'll re-post!

Hi there,

I ran into your blog by accident and I can tell you have some great kinitting skills... incidentally I have this knitting project I've wanted to tackle a while ago and I was wondering if you could give me some advice on it. Basically it's a hello-kitty-head shaped hat, but I have no idea of how many stitches, how much yarn, etc... I'll be checking back in case you don't mind helping a fellow knitter. Thanks :)

Thank you very much.
I thought I'd show you a pic of the version I want to work on... Do you think it's more or less the same? of course the problem is with the hat itself I guess I can calculate the right size of the ears. Thank you.
Saludos!

TANk GiRL~ Actually, THAT hat that you linked to, I believe is the KittyVille hat!
http://www.kittyville.com/knit/kitty_hat.html
It was also featured in a book called "Stitch & Bitch", and I have knit one myself actually ;-)
Your pic looks exactly like that hat, only with the bow added. Happy Knitting!
