nervewracking

I know what benign means, but that doesn't make me feel any better about getting a note that advises me I am now on the "recall" track.

My mum was just like you - she's been fine for over 30 years. Just put it to the back of your mind and wait for the recall letters :-)

Perfect, 'cause what you really need in your life is more medical crap, right? Oh yeah, fabulous.

Urgh. Fingers crossed.

It's frustrating, but now that they can do early detection, they're incredibly diligent. When I had my first mammo, they found something they wanted a closer look at. I stuck around for a sonogram that confirmed it was nothing (they couldn't even find the thing on the sonogram). And now I have to go back every 6 months for 2 years to confirm that it's still nothing. I had it done at 36--my old doctor insisted and now my new gyn says that it's pointless before 40 because you find all sorts of non-things if you mammo too young.

Just think of it as a non-thing and go through the hassle of the follow up. But don't stress it.

Deep breaths. If they think it's something serious they get you back in a heck of a lot faster than this.

TMI, maybe:
I had a benign lump removed from a boob when I was 19. I still have lumpy bumpy boobs, and after every mammogram, I have to have a sonogram. :( But so far, so good, as far as anything dire goes.
/TMI

I hope it's the same for you.

Welcome to the "Call-Back Club"...when you go back the first time and it really is 'nothing' the next call backs are easier. They've been "watching" me now for 5 yrs. In the meantime, hugs, lots of hugs.

Oh, I'm guessing it's a cyst. They run in our family, we get them rechecked, and they're fine. I'm crossing my fingers for you, but I really feel that that's likely. Hugs to you, too, though, because I know it's nerve-wracking.
